At EBWBT, our mission is to lead you to beautiful wine while enjoying a nice, easy bike ride on flat, safe routes.
We love wine, as much as we love to explore cities, in the special ways that only a bike can let you do.
What will you see?
A mix of gritty and pretty: a short ride through an urban but safe stretch, then a longer one alongside a lovely beach. Later, the ride takes us to an area rich in history, with a gorgeous view and great wineries.
The Oakland-Alameda Tour
The ride starts in historic Jack London Square. Riders meet their tour leader, who will be ready with bikes, helmets, and water bottles.
The first leg of the ride takes us to a scenic Oakland estuary, home to some award-winning wineries.
Then, we cross over a short bridge to the island of Alameda, and take a very pretty, flat ride along the beach.
We lunch along the beach at a picnic area. Among the eats featured: home baked focaccia bread with tuna, chicken, cheese, and other vegan/vegetarian sandwich fillings, organic fruit, and home baked chocolate goodies.
After lunch, we ride to Alameda Point, site of the former Naval Air Station, and home to several more outstanding wineries.
The Alameda ferry brings us back to Jack London Square, where, time permitting, we may visit another winery nearby.
